Using a red velvet mixture makes a lovely festive cupcake, the deep red colour makes a great visual base on which to get creative with icing and toppings shaped and coloured to be Christmassy.
Some people find it difficult to get red velvet mixtures right – the ingredients look more like something you might conduct a science experiment with than a cake recipe. Not to mention the mess the mixture can make in your kitchen – red stains everywhere!
That’s where Kids Cook come in. We have perfected the recipe and method suitable for children to use to make these great cupcakes, and we are well prepared for the mess they make in our kitchen. We are holding a Christmas baking class for kids aged 6-12 in December, at which we will be baking and decorating red velvet cupcakes, AND baking reindeer shortbread. It’s a hands-on class, where we will take the students step-by-step through each recipe, they will make a batch of each, working in groups.
They leave the class with a sample of each treat, and the recipe that they can recreate at home over the festive period.
The class will run on Tuesday, December 13th AND Wednesday December 14th, from 4-5:30pm at Kids Cook Cookery School in Clonee. Booking are now open on our website. Book soon to avoid disappointment.
