This course teaches kids baking skills such as pastry-making, breads, cakes and tarts. We cover different skills and recipes in each class, building up a varied repertoire of sweet and savoury recipes by the end of the course. Kids Cook Baking Course – 6-11 year olds
Classes take place every Tuesday afternoon from 4-5pm. Using tried and tested recipes and techniques with our top quality equipment and ovens, the students will get the best help they need to create successful baked goods.
Aprons, ingredients and recipe sheets provided. Please book in advance for this course. Pay a deposit when you book and the balance when the course starts.
Each week we teach different baking techniques with recipes to practice. The course is hands-on. Some examples from the course:
Meringues with sweet Chantilly cream
Savoury and sweet pastry, blind-baking, roux, pie-filling
Breads: The art of dough – kneading, resting, rising.
Brownies and biscuits – introducing air into mixtures, folding and melting ingredients.
