Sunday Cooking Club is a regular cookery class for kids aged 5-10 years old at Kids Cook. It runs all year round during school term time. We teach a selection of healthy and tasty recipes. The focus of this course is to teach kids about food and get them hands-on making recipes that we think they will enjoy eating and be able to recreate at home with a little help from parents. Recipes are varied – savoury and sweet, foods for breakfast, snacks, lunch and a few treats thrown in!
These classes are great for teaching children important skills in food preparation, cooking and baking. We use our exclusive KiddiKutter safety knives in the class, so that they can take part in chopping and cutting all the ingredients that go into the recipes. If your child is a fussy eater, you will be amazed at the new foods they will try while at Kids Cook. When they prepare foods themselves, and in front of encouraging peers, we find that they are far more likely to eat foods that they don’t eat at home.
We also use quizzes and games that will test and improve their knowledge of food and nutrition.
These classes are sociable and interactive. The students work together in small groups, taking turns and helping each other to make the dish of the day. If time permits, they sit down together to taste and savour what they have cooked.
