Coeliac disease and a Gluten Free Diet

1 in every 100 people in Ireland have coeliac disease. Once diagnosed, you must avoid all gluten, all the time. This is tough enough for adults but how do you manage it for kids?

This workshop will take you through all you need to know for a strict gluten free diet: what foods to include, what to avoid and how to spot and prevent cross-contamination. How do you manage eating out and the complications of a birthday party?

Sarah will also talk about the key nutrients children with coeliac disease may be missing (iron, calcium and B vitamins) and where to get them.
